I just got this update in from NWTF Biologist Jason Lupardus from Kentucky. Read the blog below to how they did.
Hello my fellow public land prowler!
We wiped em’ out this weekend here in KY on the public land! I finished Sunday morning at 6:30! Here is a brief update for ya!
The Easter Bunny was smiling to see a pile of birds being harvested this weekend in Kentucky. The Saturday opener was smoking hot, as there were plenty of 2-year old birds being harvested! The first 3 hours of the day was nothing but gobbles and the action slowed down some on Sunday, but birds worked to calls very well. There were just over 10,000 birds harvested over the weekend, and the action has been hot almost each day. The 2-year old birds have been very responsive to burning the call all the way way to the finish line. The jake and hen or single hen decoy has worked well for many set-ups. You better hurry up and get to Kentucky before the season ends, as it has the potential to be a very high harvest season!
